What's the difference between a group and a folder?
In the Layers Panel, a group is similar to a folder.
A group is the set of overlays (markers, etc.) in the folder.A folder displays the group name and holds the group.
How to create a sub-folder
You can create a sub-folder by clicking and dragging the first folder into the second folder.

How to login/register - View the Layers Panel.
Note: If the Layers Panel isn’t visible in the right-side of the browser window, click the vertical bar.
- At the top of the Layers Panel, click the Folder Icon displaying the tooltip: "Add Group".
You will see the folder added to the Layers Panel.
- Click the Folder Icon again to create the second folder.
- Click and drag the first folder into the second folder.
To add the first folder to the second folder:
- Click-and-hold the first folder's name.
- While continuing to hold, drag the first folder on top of the second folder until you see the blue line disappear.
- Let go of the first folder.
- When the first folder is inside the second folder, you will see the first folder is:
- Below the second folder.
- Indented from the left-side.
- Click-and-hold the first folder's name.

You will see the folder added to the Layers Panel.
- In the Layers Panel, click on the folder's name to highlight the folder's row.
You will see the row is highlighted in blue.
- Create an overlay in the Map View.
Line Tool—Draw a Straight Line, Connected Lines, Flight Line or Dimension Line
Draw Tool—Draw a freeform line
Pen/Curve Tool—Draw a precise curved line
Draw a rectangle - (Rectangle Tool)
Draw a polygon - (Polygon Tool)
Place an isometric shape - (ISO Shape Tool)
Create an image overlay - (Image Overlay Tool)
- View the Layers Panel.
You will see the overlay’s row is:
- Below the folder.
- Indented from the left-side.
- (Optional) To toggle the visibility of all the overlays in the folder, click the Eye Icon to the left of the group name.
- (Optional) To change the name of the group, click the Pencil Icon to the right of the group name.
The default naming will be: "Group a", "Group b", etc.

- At the top of the Layers Panel, click the Folder Icon displaying the tooltip: "Add Group".
You will see the folder added to the Layers Panel. In future steps, this will be the destination folder.
- There are 2 options for adding the overlay to the folder:
In the Layers Panel, click and drag the overlay's row into the destination folder.To click-and-drag an overlay row into a folder:- Click-and-hold the row's title.
- While continuing to hold, drag the row on top of the destination folder until you see the blue line disappear.
- Let go of the row.
- When the overlay is inside the folder, you will see the title of the overlay is:
- Below the folder.
- Indented from the left-side.
If the Layers Panel has a long list of overlays, you can select the overlay's destination folder from a list only displaying folders.To select the overlay's destination folder from a list of folders:- Click the Three Dots Icon on the right-side of the overlay's row.
- On the drop-down list, click: "Move to Folder".
- Click to select the destination folder.
- In the Layers Panel, click the arrowhead on the folder's row to display the folder's contents.
- You will see the overlay has been added to the folder, because the title of the overlay is:
- Below the folder.
- Indented from the left-side.
- Click-and-hold the row's title.
- (Optional) To toggle the visibility of all the overlays in the folder, click the Eye Icon to the left of the group name.
- (Optional) To change the name of the group, click the Pencil Icon to the right of the group name.
The default naming will be: "Group a", "Group b", etc.
