Write the text and add the label
- Select the Label Tool in the top toolbar.
Quick Key: Or you can press the "T" button on your keyboard.
- You will see a pop-up on the left side of the Map View.

Select the radio button for whether the label will be a:
- "Text" label - (the regular label).
- "Block" label - (label inside a box).
- "Bubble" label - (includes a tail that points to a location).
For this example, we’ll select: "Bubble".
- In the Map View, click the location where you want to place the label.
The label editor window will pop up.
- Type in the "Title" text and the "Description" text.
Note: The text from the "Title" field will be bold on the completed label.
- Click "Save".
The label will appear on the map.
(Optional) Move a "Bubble" label’s tail
You can change the length/direction of the label's tail without changing the location of the main section.
To move the label's tail:
- Select the Edit/Measure Tool in the top toolbar.
Quick Key: Or you can press the "Q" button on your keyboard.
- In the Map View, hover over the label. Then click-and-drag the tail node to point at the new location.
(Optional) Move the main section of a "Bubble" label
You can change the location of the main section without changing the location of the tail node.
To move the label's main section:
- Select the Edit/Measure Tool in the top toolbar.
Quick Key: Or you can press the "Q" button on your keyboard.
- In the Map View, hover over the label. Then click-and-drag the main section node to the new location.
(Optional) View the label’s row in the Layers Panel

- Select the Edit/Measure Tool in the top toolbar.
Quick Key: Or you can press the "Q" button on your keyboard.
- (Optional) If the Layers Panel isn't open on the right side of the browser window, click the vertical bar.
- In the Map View, hover over the label.
In the Layers Panel, you will see the label’s row is highlighted.
