The Outline option adds a stroke around a line or shape. Use it to make overlays stand out against the basemap or to add contrast when overlays share similar fill colours.
Outline is available in the style editor for any line, polygon, rectangle, or circle.
Enable an outline
- Select the overlay on the map or in the Layers Panel.
- Open the Style Editor for the overlay.
- Check the Outline checkbox.
The outline appears immediately using the default colour (black) and a width of 2.
Change the outline colour
- With Outline checked, click the colour swatch next to the checkbox.
- A colour picker opens. Select a colour.
- The outline updates on the map as you pick.
Note: Outline color does not have an opacity setting. The outline is always fully opaque.
Change the outline width
- With Outline checked, use the width picker next to the colour swatch.
- Set a value between 1 and 20.
Disable the outline
Uncheck the Outline checkbox. The colour and width you set are remembered, so re-checking restores them.
