The Dimensions option displays measurement labels directly on a polygon or line in the map view. Each segment shows its length. Use it to annotate distances on the map without switching to the Measure tool.
Turn on Dimensions in the Style Editor
- Select the polygon or line on the map or in the Layers Panel.
- Open the Style Editor for the overlay.
- Check the Dimensions checkbox.
Dimension labels appear on each segment of the overlay.
Turn on Dimensions while drawing (Polygon Tool)
The Polygon Tool panel includes an On Map Dimensions checkbox and a unit dropdown.
- Select the Polygon Tool from the toolbar.
- In the tool panel, check On Map Dimensions.
- A Unit dropdown appears. Choose the unit to display: - Imperial: feet/inches combinations - Metric: meters and related units
- Draw your polygon. Dimension labels appear on each segment as you draw.
Turn off Dimensions
Uncheck the Dimensions checkbox (or On Map Dimensions in the Polygon Tool panel). The labels are removed from the overlay.
