Produce the preset polygon of a region

- Login to your Scribble Maps account at:
https://www.scribblemaps.com/create(Optional) To learn how to log in, visit this link:
How to login/register - In the Map View, move and zoom the map so you can see the location surrounding the region.
For this example, we'll move and zoom the map so we can see the United States.To move the map:
- Select the Hand Tool in the top toolbar.
Quick Key: Or you can hold the "Shift" button on your keyboard.
- In the center of the Map View, you will see the crosshair reticle.
- In the Map View, click-and-drag the map so the chosen location is at the reticle.
When you later zoom in, you will see the map zooms to/from the location at the reticle.
To zoom in/out, there are 2 options:Option 1
In the top-right corner of the Map View, click the:- Zoom-in button, "+".
- Zoom-out button, "-".
Option 2
Use the scroll wheel on your mouse.For Windows- Scroll forward to zoom-in.
- Scroll backwards to zoom out.
For Mac- Scroll backwards to zoom in.
- Scroll forward to zoom-out.
- Select the Hand Tool in the top toolbar.
- (Optional) If the "LAYERS" Panel isn't open on the right side of the browser window, click the vertical bar.
- In the top-right corner of the Layers Panel, click the Paint Brush Icon displaying the tooltip: "Highlight Region".
The "REGION HIGHLIGHTER" window will appear.
- Type the name of the region into the search field. For example, "New York".
You will see a drop-down list displaying the names of the regions related to your search.
- Click to select a specific region. For example, "New York City, New York, United States of America".
The region will appear in the preview window.
- Click the button: "ADD TO MAP".
- Click the "Ok" button.
- Close the "Region Highlighter" window by clicking the "X" in the top-right corner.
- In the Map View, you will see the region's polygon(s).
- In the Layers Panel, you will see the region's folder. Under the folder, you will see the region's polygon(s).
Copy and paste the web address
- Select the Edit/Measure Tool in the top toolbar.
Quick Key: Or you can press the "Q" button on your keyboard.
- Right-click on the polygon. In the pop-up menu that appears, click "Edit Info".
You will see the editor window.
- Open a new browser tab to display the web page you want the polygon to link to.
Or use this example URL, NYC's Wikipedia page:
"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City" - Copy the web page's URL.
Copy by clicking to highlight the URL. Then use your keyboard to press:
- Quick Key: Ctrl + C (for Windows).
- Quick Key: Command + C (for Macs).
- Return to the browser tab displaying Scribble Maps.

Paste the URL in the editor window you previously opened.
Paste by clicking the "Clickable Link" field. Then use your keyboard to press:
- Quick Key: Ctrl + V (for Windows).
- Quick Key: Command + V (for Macs).
Select where the web page will load
- Under the "Target" heading, click the drop-down to select whether you want the web page to:
- Load in a "New Window" tab.
OR
- Replace the map in the "Same Window" tab.
Warning: If you select "Same Window", the user’s unsaved map data may be lost when the tab transfers from the map to the web page.
- Load in a "New Window" tab.
- Click the "SAVE" button.
Test the clickable link
- Select the Hand Tool in the top toolbar.
Quick Key: Or you can hold down the "Shift" button on your keyboard.
- In the Map View, click the polygon.
- There are 2 options for this step:
Option 1If you select "New Window", you will see the web page load in a new tab.Option 2If you select "Same Window", you will see the browser warn you about losing unsaved data. After you save the map, click the button to leave the map.You will see the web page replace the map in the browser tab.

You can also add a clickable region polygon to an embedded map on a website. For example, the website of a real estate company.
