Create a smoother version of a line/border - "Smoothing > Bezier"

Description

• Line - from a Freeform line, or Straight line.
• Border of a shape - from a Rectangle, or Polygon.

(Option 1) Draw a freeform line 

1. Log in to your Scribble Maps account at:

2. Select the Draw Tool in the top toolbar.

   Quick Key: Or you can press the "D" button on your keyboard.

3. In the Map View, draw a line including several vertices.

(Option 2) - Convert a border into a line

2. Draw a rectangle or polygon.

3. Delete the shape's fill area.
   1. In the top toolbar, select the Delete Tool.

      Quick Key: Or you can press the "E" button on your keyboard.

   2. In Map View, click on the shape's fill area.

Configure how the line will be smoothened

1. At the top of the Layers Panel, click on the Toolbox's gear and wrench icon.
   You will see a window with Core Operations and Plugin options appear.

   Note: If you previously used one of the tools in Toolbox, you may need to click on Back to Menu to return to the main screen.

    
2. Under the "Transform" heading > "Smoothing" subheading, click on the link: "Bezier".
    
3. Under the "Line/Polygon" heading, click the button: "Select".
    
4. In the pop-up, select the line you created.
    
5. (Optional) Under the heading, "Resolution (ms)", type in the value.

   The "Resolution" parameter sets the major-adjustments for the smoothing transformation.

   The range is from 1,000-20,000ms. Lower values increase the smoothing transformation.

    
6. (Optional) Under the heading, "Sharpness", type in the value.

   The "Sharpness" parameter sets the fine-adjustments for the smoothing transformation.

   The range is from 0.01-1. Lower values increase the smoothing transformation.

    

(Optional) Select the colour of the line

To choose the colour:

1. Under the "Line Colour" heading, click the coloured rectangle.
    
2. There are 2 options for this step:
   (Option 1)
   Type the Hex Colour Code into the field.
    
   (Option 2)
   1. Click on the “White+Colour” field to choose how much white is mixed with colour.
       
   2. (Optional) Click on the Shade Bar to choose how much gray or black is mixed with the “White+Colour”.
       
    
3. (Optional) In the “Opacity” field, type in the non-transparency percentage of the final colour.
   The opacity value:
   • 0% is invisible.
   • 50% is see-through.
   • 100% is the solid colour.

Smoothen, name, view, and edit the line

1. Click the button: "SMOOTH". Then click "Ok".
    
2. In the top-right corner of the Toolbox window, click on the "X" button, to close the window.
    
3. In the Layers Panel, you will see the new line’s row.
    
4. (Optional) If you want to add a title to the line, click the Pencil Icon on the line's row.
    
5. In Map View, you will see the new line added to the top of the original line.

   Notes:
   

   (Optional) If the results aren't perfect, you can tinker with the "Resolution" and "Sharpness" values when you retry the procedure.

   Start the procedure from the section:
   Configure how the line will be smoothened

    

   (Optional) If the minimum settings don't make the new line smooth enough, you can retry the procedure starting from the new line as the original line.

    
6. (Optional) If you select the Edit/Measure Tool in the top toolbar, you can edit and move the new line.
