Printing Overlays/Maps/HD
You can quickly create a printout of your map by using the print feature in your browser.
If you want more options to customize the map printout, you can use the instructions below to first create:
- An image file.
- A PDF.
You can then print the map from the software you use to open the file.
Save your map:
- Select the Menu button in the top menu bar.

Under the Scribble Maps heading, select Save Map.
The Save Map window will appear.

- When you are ready to save the map, click on the button; "Save Map".
Generate an image file or PDF of the map
Save Image
- After you click, Save Map in the Save Map window, you will transfer to the Map Saved window. Click on the button: Save Image.
Note: You cannot generate an image of a Secure or Encrypted map.

Type in the width and height (in pixels) of the image.
Depending on the type of account you have, there are limits on the maximum number of pixels for the width and height. If you have a:
- Free account, the maximum is 450x450px.
- Pro Basic account, the maximum is 2,500x2,500px.
- Pro Business account, the maximum is 11,000x11,000px.
The available image formats are:- PNG.
- JPEG.
- GIF.
- BMP.
- TIFF.
- In the Preview Window, you can zoom in or out of the map
- Zoom-in - In the top-left corner of the map, keep clicking on the (+) button until the map zooms in to the magnification level you want to see.
- Zoom-out - In the top-left corner of the map, keep clicking on the (-) button until the map zooms out to the magnification level you want to see.
- Fractional Zoom - In the top-left corner of the map, use the Fratrional Zoom scroll bar to zoom in and out, or type in the number to zoom to the magnification level you want to see.
- Choose the image’s crop by clicking and dragging the map to fit in the black rectangle.

Click the Generate button.
- Once complete, a message bubble appears that says: “Your image is finished generating. (Allow Popups)”. Click the Download button.
You will see the file appear in your browser. The location of the file will be the Downloads folder on your computer.
Save PDF
- After you click, Save Map in the Save Map window, you will transfer to the Map Saved window. Click on the button: Save PDF.

Select the PDF radio button.

Type in the width and height (in inches) of the PDF image.
Underneath the width field, you will see the conversion to pixels.
- (Optional) For an HD (high-definition) image, you can change the DPI (Dots Per Inch) of the PDF image. Up to a point, an increase in the DPI will increase the level of detail and clarity. Also, an increase in the DPI will usually increase the file size.
Note: When you change the DPI, the width and height sizes will automatically adjust.

- Choose the image’s crop by clicking and dragging the map to fit in the black rectangle.

Click the Generate button.
- After the process is complete, you will see a pop-up bubble appear that says: “Your image is finished generating. (Allow Popups)”. Click the Download button.
You will see the file appear in your browser. The location of the file will be the Downloads folder on your computer.
Print your map

Open the image file or PDF by using the software you choose.

Open the software’s print window by clicking one of these shortcuts
- Quick Key: Command + P (Mac).
- Quick Key: Ctrl + P (Windows).
