Geocoding turns an address into coordinates so it can be placed on your map. Import List offers two providers: ScribbleMaps and Google. Each provider has its own allowance.
Choose a provider
- Open Import List and load your spreadsheet or CSV.
- Check which columns contain your address information.
- Use the Geocoding provider dropdown to select ScribbleMaps or Google.
- Check the remaining allowance shown for that provider. The help icon beside the dropdown explains the separate allowances and batch limit.
- Choose Map Now to start.
Rows that use coordinates do not need address geocoding. Include the street, city, state or region, and country where applicable to help the geocoder find the right location.
Retry unmatched addresses with Google
If ScribbleMaps cannot match some addresses, the panel can offer Geocode with Google. Choose it to try those addresses with Google, or choose Skip to continue without that pass.
The Google pass uses your Google allowance or purchased Google geocodes. The confirmation shows the maximum number it may use. Using Google results switches the map to Google. Choosing ScribbleMaps never starts a paid Google pass automatically.
Review the results
Check the mapped locations before using them for your work. No provider is guaranteed to find every address. Correct incomplete addresses and try again when needed.
