Bulk > Marker Style: Swapping Styles for Specific Markers in a Group

If you need to replace a specific marker style within a group, Scribble Maps provides a Bulk Style Change option through the Bulk > Marker Style > Swap Styles tool. This feature allows you to select markers of a certain style and swap them for a new style while leaving other markers in the group unchanged.

Note: If you want to change the style of a URL-sourced marker, only the image’s URL is a factor in the style match. The image’s anchor and scale aren’t factors.

Create the markers

Create 1 marker. For example; this marker style - Tabs > Numeric Tabs > Blue > 1.

Create another marker. For example; this marker style - Tabs > Numeric Tabs > Green > 2.

Add the markers to a folder

At the top of the Layers Panel, click on the Folder Icon displaying the tooltip: "Add Group".
You will see the folder added to the Layers Panel.
Click and drag each marker’s row into the folder.
The folder now holds a set of overlays, so the folder is considered a Group.

Configure the style change

At the top of the Layers Panel, click on the Toolbox's gear and wrench icon.
You will see a window with Core Operations and Plugin options appear.
Under the "Bulk" heading > "Marker Style" subheading, click on the link: "Swap Styles".
Under the "Original" heading, click on the button: "select".
Select the specific marker style you want to change. For example; this marker style - Tabs > Numeric Tabs > Blue > 1.
Under the "New" heading, click on the button: "select".
Select the new marker style. For example; this marker style - Tabs > Numeric Tabs > Red > 3.
Under the "Select Group" heading, click on the button: "select".
Click on the group you created.

Change the style of the markers

Click on the button: "Change Marker Styles".
A pop-up will appear to tell you the marker styles have been changed. Click "Ok".
In the top-right corner of the Toolbox window, click on the "X" button, to close the window.

View the new style of the markers

Look in the Map View, you will see the specified original markers have been changed to the new style.
Look in the Layers Panel, you will see the specified original markers have also been changed to the new style.

Make the size of a marker shrink when you zoom out.

Change the style of the markers in a group - "Marker Style In Group".

Add the matching markers to a group by specifying the marker style - "Add To Group By Marker".

Change a group of markers into a single-coloured sequence of numbered markers - "Marker Style > Sequence".
