Generating Your First Charts

Under the Charts tab, next to Data View, click on the GENERATE CHARTS button.
Depending on how much data you have on your map, it may take up to a few minutes to generate.
- (Optional) Convert Attribute to date.
You may be asked if you want to change certain attributes to a date attribute.
- Once the charts have finished generating, a pop-up will appear letting you know how many charts have been generated. Click the "Ok" button.
You will see your charts have been generated.
NOTE: Keep in mind that AI isn't perfect. Some charts may be broken or not make sense.
Generate More Charts
- In Data View, click on the button next to one of the Attributes.

Click on the AUTO GENERATE button.
A pop-up will appear letting you know how many charts have been added and how many were already added.

Click the "Ok" button.
You will see the new charts have been added.
Manually Create Charts

Creating Charts Manually
- In Data View, find the Attribute you want to create a chart for.

Click on the button.

Select the type of chart you want to create.

Distribution (Bar):
- Consists of rectangular bars, where the length or height of each bar represents the value of a variable.
- Typically used to compare and display discrete categories of data.

Rank (Row):
- A row chart is a type of bar chart that displays data in horizontal bars rather than the traditional vertical bars.
- They are often used when you have long category labels or when you want to emphasize the comparison of data across categories in a horizontal layout.

% Share (Pie):
- A circular chart divided into slices, with each slice representing a proportion of the whole.
- Useful for showing parts of a whole or comparing percentages.

Summary (Card):
- A card chart, also known as a card visualization, is a compact and concise way to display key information or metrics in a small rectangular "card" format.
- Thet are commonly used in dashboards, reports, and data-driven applications to highlight important data points, KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), or summary information.

Trend (Line):
- Displays data points as markers connected by lines.
- Ideal for showing trends, changes over time, or continuous data.

- Fill out all the fields for the chart.

- (Optional) Check the 'Add Metric' box to include an additional metric in the chart.
You will notice additional fields pop up.
- Select the attribute to "Calculate For", in the drop-down menu.
- In the "Method" drop-down menu, choose how you wish to calculate the new metric.
- Total

- (Optional) Check the 'Add Grouping' box to include an additional grouping in the chart.
You will notice an additional field pop up.Select the attribute you want to group by.
- Select the method of sorting.

Rank (Row)
- In the "Rank By" drop-down menu, select the attribute you want to rank by.
- In the "Method" drop-down menu, select how you want to rank the attribute.

NOTE: If Count is selected, the "Rank By" field will be greyed out. Count is the only Method that cannot be ranked by another attribute. - Select the number of rankings in the "Limit to Top #" drop-down menu.

- Select the Method for the Pie chart.

NOTE: If anything other than Count is selected, you will have the option to "Calculate For" a secondary attribute. - (Optional) Select a secondary attribute to "Calculate For".
Summary (Card)
- Select "Top Value" or "Count".
- (Optional) To include an additional value, check "Filter for Value" and select the attribute from the "Value" drop-down menu.
- (Optional) Check to "Add Another Metric".
- Select the attribute to "Calculate For", in the drop-down menu.
- In the "Method" drop-down menu, choose how you wish to calculate the new metric.

- Select the "Date Grouping" from the drop-down menu.

- Select the "Date" attribute from the drop-down menu.
- In the "Method" drop-down menu, choose how you wish to calculate the new metric.

- Select the attribute for the line chart from the "For Metric" drop-down menu.
- (Optional) Check the 'Add Metric' box to include an additional metric in the chart.

Click the "CREATE CHART" button.
You will see that the new chart has been added to Chart View.
Chart Settings
Learn about the configuration options available for adjusting and personalizing your charts.
- To access chart settings, click on the "Charts" tab, located next to the Data View tab.

Click on the gear icon to the right of the chart's title.
This will open the chart's settings menu.
- Make the desired changes.
- Click the "Save" button.

Style Chart(s)
- Click the STYLE CHART(S) button to update the styles.

Select the Size of the colour palette by:
- Typing in the number.
OR - Clicking the up/down arrows.
- Typing in the number.

Colour Palette
There are three options to select your colour palette.- Themes: Select the theme from the drop-down menu.
- Manual selection: You can click on each individual colour and select them manually.

Choose the colour:
There are 2 options for this step:
Option 1
Type the Hex Colour Code into the field.Option 2- Click on the "White+Colour" field to choose how much white is mixed with colour.
- (Optional) Click on the Shade Bar to choose how much gray or black is mixed with the "White+Colour".
- Click on the "White+Colour" field to choose how much white is mixed with colour.

(Optional) In the "Opacity" field, type in the non-transparency percentage of the final colour.
The opacity value:- 0% is invisible.
- 50% is see-through.
- 100% is the solid colour.
- (Optional) Select the pattern from the list of options or click MORE + to add your own image.
- (Optional) Set the pattern Space & Size (images) or Width & Space (lines) by:
- Typing in the number.
OR - Clicking the up/down arrows.
- Typing in the number.
- AI-Generated: Create a new theme using AI.

Click on the "AI Generate" button.
The Create Chart Palette From Text menu will pop up.
- Type in the type of theme you wish to create.
- Click the "Create" button.
Delete Charts
- You can click on the "DELETE" button to delete the chart.
- You can also click on the "DELETE TO RIGHT" button to delete every chart to the right of the current chart.
This will not delete the chart you are currently on.
