Create the overlay

1. Create one of these types of overlays.

    

   Draw Tool—Draw a freeform line

   Line Tool—Draw a Straight Line, Connected Lines, Flight Line or Dimension Line

   Pen/Curve Tool—Draw a precise curved line

   Draw a circle - (Circle Tool)

   Draw a rectangle - (Rectangle Tool)

   Draw a Grid - (Grid Tool)

   Draw a polygon - (Polygon Tool)

   Label Tool—Create a label

   Marker Tool—Create a marker
   

   Place an isometric shape - (ISO Shape Tool)

   Create an image overlay - (Image Overlay Tool)

    

Create the Click Action

2. Select the Edit/Measure Tool in the top toolbar.

   Quick Key: Or you can press the "Q" button on your keyboard.

    
3. Right-click on the overlay. In the pop-up menu that appears, Click the checkbox: "Click Action".
   You will see the "Click Action" window appear.
    
4. Under the "Click Action" heading, you will see a list of available options in the drop-down menu.

   • Open Website: Opens a website, either in the same tab or a different one.
   • Goto Lattitude,Longitude: Takes you to the Lattitude,Longitude entered.
   • Set Zoom: Sets the zoom level.
   • Goto Overlay/Folder: Takes you to the overlay or folder selected. 
   • Hide Overlay/Folder: Hides the overlay or folder selected. 
   • Show Overlay/Folder: Shows the overlay or folder selected. 
   • Hide All in Folder: Hides all items in folder. 
   • Show All in Folder: Shows all items in folder. 
   • Pause (Wait For Next Click): Pauses the sequence until the next click.
   • Wait For Milliseconds: Add a delay in Milliseconds (MS) between actions.
   • Loop To Start: Loops back to first action in the list.
     Useful for digital signage.
   • Download File for Overlay/Group (GPX, GeoJSON, etc..): Creates a clickable button to download a file.

   • Add Effect (Confetti): Adds a fun effect that explodes with confetti.

Example: Open Website

Copy and paste the web address

1. Open a new browser tab to display the web page you want the overlay to link to.
   Or use this example URL, the Wikipedia homepage:
   "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page"
    
2. Copy the web page's URL.

   Copy by clicking to highlight the URL. Then use your keyboard to press:

   • Quick Key: Ctrl + C (for Windows).
   • Quick Key: Command + C (for Macs).

    

    
3. Return to the browser tab displaying Scribble Maps.
    
4. Paste the URL in the editor window you previously opened.

   Paste by clicking the "Clickable Link" field. Then use your keyboard to press:

   • Quick Key: Ctrl + V (for Windows).
   • Quick Key: Command + V (for Macs).

    

    

Select where the web page will load

1. Under the "Target" heading, click the drop-down to select whether you want the web page to:
   • Load in a "New Window" tab.
     OR
   • Replace the map in the "Same Window" tab.

   Warning: If you select "Same Window", the user’s unsaved map data may be lost when the tab transfers from the map to the web page.

    
2. Click the "+ Add Action" button. Then click "SAVE".
    
3. In the overlay editor window, click the "SAVE" button.

Test the clickable link

1. Select the Hand Tool in the top toolbar.

   Or you can hold down the "Shift" button on your keyboard.

    
2. In the Map View, click on the overlay.
    
3. There are 2 options for this step:
   Option 1
   If you select "New Window", you will see the web page load in a new tab.
   Option 2
   If you select "Same Window", you will see the browser warn you about losing unsaved data. After you save the map, click the button to leave the map.

   You will see the web page replace the map in the browser tab.
