Kite Arrow and Block Arrow are solid-filled arrow line types in the line style picker. Use them to show direction, flow, or movement on a map.
Both types are applied with a black outline (width 2) and Shrink on Zoom enabled by default, so the arrow scales as the map zooms in and out.
Apply a Kite or Block Arrow
- Select the line on the map or in the Layers Panel.
- Open the Style Editor for the line.
- Click the line type picker (the pattern swatch showing the current line style).
- A dropdown opens with all available line styles. Select either: - Kite Arrow — a pointed diamond-head arrow. - Block Arrow — a flat rectangular-head arrow.
The line updates immediately. The outline and Shrink on Zoom settings are applied automatically.
Adjust the arrow after applying
After selecting a Kite or Block Arrow, you can change:
- Colour — use the fill colour swatch in the style editor.
- Outline colour and width — the Outline section shows the default black outline. Adjust or disable it there.
- Shrink on Zoom — enabled by default. Uncheck to keep a fixed size at all zoom levels.
- Line width — controls the body and head size of the arrow.
