A convex hull is a polygon that surrounds all of the overlays in a group. The polygon’s points are determined by the furthest points of the surrounded overlays.
Note: The hull cannot be created if the group includes one of these overlays:
- Isometric shape.
OR
- Image overlay.
Select the border style for the convex hull (polygon)
- Choose the border style.
In the top toolbar, above the "Search…" magnifying glass, you will see the border style selector. Click on the current border style. Then click to select the new border style from the drop-down menu.
Create the overlays
- Create overlays with a total of 3 or more points. For example a marker, a straight line, and a polygon.

Add the overlays to a folder
- At the top of the Layers Panel, click on the Folder Icon displaying the tooltip: "Add Group".
You will see the folder added to the Layers Panel.

Click and drag each overlay’s row into the folder.
The folder now holds a set of overlays, considered a Group.

Configure the hull
- At the top of the Layers Panel, click on the Gear Icon displaying the tooltip: "Operations & Analysis".
- Under the "Analysis" heading > "Hulls" subheading, click on the link: "Convex".
- Under the "Select Group" heading, click on the button: "Select".
- Click on the group you created
Select the colours for the border and the fill area
- Under the "Line Colour" heading, click the rectangle that displays the currently selected border colour.
To choose the colour:

There are 2 options for this step:Option 1
Type the Hex Colour Code into the field.Option 2- Click on the "White+Colour" field to choose how much white is mixed with colour.
- (Optional) Click on the Shade Bar to choose how much gray or black is mixed with the "White+Colour".
- Click on the "White+Colour" field to choose how much white is mixed with colour.

Type in the "Opacity" value to choose the non-transparency percentage of the final colour.Note:
- 0% is invisible.
- 50% is see-through.
- 100% is the solid colour.

- Under the Fill Colour heading, click the rectangle to change the currently selected colour.
Create, name, and view the hull
- Click on the button: "Create Convex Hull".
- A pop-up will appear that says the convex hull has been plotted. Click "Ok".
- In the top-right corner of the Operations and Analysis window, click on the "X" button.
- In the Layers Panel, you will see the convex hull row has been added. You can click on the Pencil Icon to add a title to the row.
- In Map View, you may have to zoom in or out to see the convex hull around the group of overlays. To quickly find the convex hull, click on the centring button on the hull’s row in the Layers Panel. The button is the outlined square with a dot at the center.
