Map views

Maps on a Scribble Maps base map have unlimited views. Share or embed your map and let people view it as often as they like. It does not matter if it gets 1 view or 1 billion views.

This applies to every base map except Google. Our styled maps are not Google Maps. They do more, including animations.

Google base maps have a monthly view limit

Google base maps (Road, Satellite, Hybrid, Terrain, Traffic and Google custom styles) can only be shown a set number of times each month on your shared and embedded maps:

• Pro Basic: 1,500 views a month.
• Pro Business: 5,000 views a month.
• Free: 1 view a month, and only on maps created in the last 7 days.

The limit counts views across all of your maps. It resets on the 1st of each month (UTC).

What happens when the Google limit is reached

Your map keeps working. It falls back to a Scribble Maps base map, which has unlimited views, so it keeps loading for everyone who opens it:

• Road shows the Scribble Maps road map.
• Satellite shows satellite imagery from Esri.
• Terrain shows the Scribble Maps topographic map.
• Hybrid shows the Scribble Maps hybrid map on Pro accounts, and the Scribble Maps road map on Free accounts.
• Google custom styles show the same design drawn on Scribble Maps base maps. On Pro accounts this has no limit. On Free accounts it is shown for 2 views a month per map, then the map shows the Scribble Maps road map.

Your drawings, markers and data are not affected. Only the base map underneath changes.

If a map will get a lot of views, choose a Scribble Maps base map for it. It will never hit a view limit.
