Create the overlays

1. 1. In Map View, create your overlays.

   To learn how to create the overlays, visit these links

    

   Rectangle Tool—Draw a rectangle

   Circle Tool—Draw a circle

   Draw a polygon - (Polygon Tool)

    

Add the overlays to a folder

2. At the top of the Layers Panel, click on the Folder Icon displaying the tooltip: "Add Group".
   You will see the folder added to the Layers Panel.
    
3. Click and drag each overlay’s row into the folder.
   The folder now holds a set of overlays, so the folder is considered a Group.

Calculate the Cost

4. At the top of the Layers Panel, click on the Toolbox's gear and wrench icon.
   You will see a window with Core Operations and Plugin options appear.
    
5. Under the "Aggregate" heading > "Cost Per Unit" subheading, click on the link: "Cost Per Unit > Area * Cost Per Unit".
    
6. Under the "Select Group" heading, click the button: "Select".
    
7. Click to select the group from the list.
    
8. Under the "Unit" heading, select the unit of measurement. 

   • Square Metre
   • Square Kilometre
   • Hectare
   • Square Foot
   • Square Yard
   • Square Mile
   • Acre

    

    
9. Under the "Cost per Unit" heading, enter the cost of each unit.
    
10. Click the "Aggregate Data" button. A new window will appear, with a table where you will see the Total Cost for the attributes in the table.
     
11. In the top-right corner of the Toolbox window, click on the "X" button, to close the window.
