(Option 1) - Save a map file offline without encryption
- Login to your Scribble Maps account at:
https://www.scribblemaps.com/create(Optional) To learn how to log in, visit this link:
How to login/register - In the top toolbar, click the "Menu" button.
- Under the "Scribble Maps" heading, click: "Save To Computer".
A prompt will ask: "Encrypt Data? (Optional)"
- Click: "No".
- You will see the downloaded file in the browser window.
- Find the file’s storage location on your computer. The default location will usually be your "Downloads" folder.
The file’s:- Type will be "SMJSON".
- Name will end with ".smjson".
(Option 2) - Save a map file offline with encryption

- Login to your Scribble Maps account at:
https://www.scribblemaps.com/create(Optional) To learn how to log in, visit this link:
How to login/register - In the top toolbar, click the "Menu" button.
- Under the "Scribble Maps" heading, click: "Save To Computer"
A prompt will ask: "Encrypt Data? (Optional)"
- Click: "Yes".
- When prompted, type in the password.
The password requires:
- At least 7 characters (total).
- At least 1 digit.
- At least 1 special character (punctuation marks and other symbols).
- Click: "Submit".
A prompt will state: "Encryption Complete".
- Click: "Download".
- You will see the downloaded file in the browser window.
- Find the file’s storage location in your computer. The default location will usually be your "Downloads" folder.
The file’s:
- Type will be "SMJSON".
- Name will end with: "_encrypted.smjson".
