Measuring distances and areas accurately is an important task that you may need to perform in your mapping projects. This guide provides you with multiple methods to achieve precise measurements. Learn about the tools and techniques available to help you obtain accurate distance and area calculations effortlessly.
Measuring While Drawing
While drawing lines and polygons, you can see the measurement information in real-time. A tooltip will be displayed, showing the line distance or area based on the type of shape you create.
Using the Edit Tool
After you have drawn a shape, you can easily obtain its measurement by selecting the edit tool and hovering over the shape or line. The measurement details will be displayed, allowing you to retrieve the precise distance or area.
Changing Measurement Units
If you prefer different units for your measurements, such as imperial or metric, and want to adjust the units displayed for different measurements, you can make changes in the settings. You can access the settings by either selecting the menu or clicking on the gear icon located in the bottom left corner.
