Description and example of a SHP file

Export the SHP file

1. Login to your Scribble Maps account at:
   https://www.scribblemaps.com/create

   How to login / register
    
2. Open the map.

   These are the possible methods:
   

   Load a map from the Your Maps window

   Load a map by using the Map ID - "Menu > Load Import"

   Upload an offline map file - "Menu > Load From Computer"

    
3. In the top toolbar, click the "Menu" button.
    
4. Under the "Export" heading, click: "Save SHP".
    
5. (Optional) If the map has unsaved changes, you will see a pop-up displaying this message: "You have unsaved changes that will not be in the Shape File". Click:
   • "Save Now" to save the changes before creating the SHP file.

     Then perform the previous steps #3 and 4 again.
     OR
   • "Continue" to not save the changes before creating the SHP file.
    
6. You will see the downloaded file in your browser. The file's default location will usually be your computer’s "Downloads" folder. The file’s:
   • Type will be: "Compressed (zipped) Folder".
   • Name will end with: "_shp.zip".
