Description and example of a DXF file
DXF stands for Drawing Interchange Format, a file format developed by Autodesk. A DXF file contains vector data that can be used in CAD (computer-aided design), and other types of software. An example use for a DXF file is: you can transfer the data for a polygon into Autodesk's AutoCAD.
Export the DXF file

How to login / register - Open the map.
These are the possible methods:
Load a map from the Your Maps window
- In the top toolbar, click the "Menu" button.
- Under the "Export" heading, click: "Save DXF".
- (Optional) If the map has unsaved changes, you will see a pop-up displaying this message: "You have unsaved changes that will not be in the DXF". Click:
- "Save Now" to save the changes before creating the DXF file.

- "Continue" to not save the changes before creating the DXF file.
- "Save Now" to save the changes before creating the DXF file.
- You will see the downloaded file in your browser. The file's default location will usually be your computer’s "Downloads" folder. The file’s:
- Type will be: "DXF".
- Name will end with: ".dxf".
